A Weekend in Chicago… We here at Orlando Ghost Tours pride ourselves on being able to provide exciting and unique excursions for you, our cherished guests that take you to amazing, haunted locations and allow you to explore the historical and paranormal side of some of this country’s most paranormally active locations. Over the years we have journey to such amazing places as New Orleans, Savannah, St.Augustine, Charleston, and of course, Chicago! We are, therefore, extremely excited and overjoyed to announce that we are returning to Chicago this August 29-31, 2008, for what is sure to be a fascinating paranormal investigative weekend in one the country’s most storied municipalities! Founded in 1673, Chicago is one of the most dynamic cities in the United States; and because of more than 330 years of acting as a backdrop to a plethora of human drama and suffering, it is also one of the most haunted cities in the country. Chicago has had more than its fair share of fires, epidemics, immigrant poverty and violence, organized crime and other paranormal triggers. Several gangsters and serial killers have called Chicago home, as have crooked politicians, desperate thieves and ladies of the night. This is not to say that Chicago isn’t a cultured city filled with kind, hard-working people... these negatives just come with the territory of being one of the largest and oldest metropolises in the country. Orlando Ghost Tours is proud to be staying at the beautiful, luxurious Congress Plaza Hotel on world famous Michigan Avenue! The Congress Plaza was originally designed and built to accommodate visitors to the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893. This World’s Fair was the featured backdrop to the gripping non-fiction novel “Devil in the White City,” in which the exploits of a serial killer plaguing this great city during that time are detailed. Over the years, this amazing 14-story property has catered to our nation’s Presidents, foreign dignitaries, operatic virtuosos, stage and movie celebrities, business travelers and a multitude of conventions. The hotel was built when Chicago featured cobbled streets, gaslights, and horse-drawn carriages. From a paranormal standpoint, Chicago is a very unique and active location. Steeped in history, this Midwestern city was home to the St. Valentines Massacre as well as several other mob-related events. Also home to Al Capone, Chicago has a fascinating and violent history that rivals that of New York and New Orleans! This will be our third time in Chicago as investigators. August of 2006 we spent our first weekend there at the Congress Plaza and were amazed at the sites that we were able to take in during our relatively short time there. This time we are extending our stay by an additional night so that we can better take advantage of all of the terrific activities the city has to offer and so that we can serve you, our guest, better by providing you additional time to enjoy your trip and the time spent investigating this amazing place |
